Missed you, buddy
After three weeks of maddening calls and furious fans/players/coaches (and indifferent owners) the NFL and the locked out zebras seem to be on the verge of working out a deal that would have the original officials back on the field this weekend sometime. Despite the completely infuriating logic that “oh you’ll still watch anyway”, it was obvious by the amount of negative coverage the NFL received yesterday over the blown call on Monday night that a deal was going to have to get done. The NFL wasn’t going to lose its audience immediantly, but it was losing the respect of the sports world. Over a long enough timeline, that certainly would have damaged the bottom line.
When asked for comment, the Packers said “OH MAN THAT’S AWESOME NEWS! THANKS GUYS!”
No they didn’t.
